Stan Spry has been at the fore front of Saltwater Fly Fishing on the North Cornish Coast. Check out his web site for more details. Some piccys of some Pollock when Stan had in a couple hours fishing from a boat on Monday out of Camel Estuary .All taken # 8 rods, fast sinking lines and baitfish patterns. 23 pollock taken to 6.5lb Real rodbending action. Why did we ever use 50lb class rods 30 years ago??
Flies used were from the TURRALL stable with a Clouser Deceiver 2/0 on the point and a Juvenille 2/0
on the dropper. The point fly is heavily weighted and helps to get down deep.
Fishing on this occasion from a private boat on the reefs out of Padstow using # 8 Carbotec Saltwater Rod
Vision GT reel loaded with a Rio Sink 8 line.Leader Rio Flourflex Plus 23lb about 12ft long
This was real fishing. Shore fishing a no go at the moment we've been 3 times this week and no go
Not even seen a fish. Waiting for Sept/Oct again for the cream at Rock
![]() Our website for the charter boat is www.seafishingcornwall.co.uk and www.seafishingcornwall.info
