A few of my friends took a boat out this week from from the port of Jaco in Costa Rica and sent me some great photo's of the Mahi Mahi they caught. The fishing was great by all accounts especially for such a short charter - only four hours.
As you can see these fish are great fighters. This particular Mahi Mahi or dolphinfish took ricky over 30 minutes to land the beast and weighed in at just over 45LB! They where trolling lures about 1 KM off shore when this monster struck.
Well done Ricky. I think a trip to these Costa Rican waters must be on my life's to do list. Imagine that on a fly rod!
