This report is for the week ending 24/6/07. Despite the terrible weather the fishing as ever had been fantastic for those brave enough to face the rain. The usual flies have produced the goods for this venue, Damsels, Montana's and Buzzers being the favourites. The biggest rainbow trout of the week went to the following
13lb 9oz Clive Surplice from Birmingham on a Gold Head Damsel
15lb 12oz Jack Heckins Helston on a Black Buzzer
John Hodge the fishery owner has just introduced both Tiger and Brook trout to the fishery. These fish pound for pound are some of the best fighting fish available. Some of these fish are being kept in the holding tanks and are being fed on. With John's experience in producing big fish these should provide some great sport as John Reguarly has 20lb plus fish in his specimen lake at Treemeadow. Alan, Johns assistant at the fishery also had a memorable week. He landed a 14lb cock brown trout. This fish was returned unharmed and is in the catch and release pool. This means that anyone, regardless of budget has the chance of catching such a once in a lifetime fish. This Brown Trout can easily swallow a 1 1/2lb rainbow trout, so for those after this fish hold on to your rod.
